Why does my Audi A1 not start in cold weather?

I have noticed that my Audi A1 has trouble starting in cold temperatures (below 10 degrees Celsius). The engine turns over, but it takes multiple attempts before it finally starts. Is this a common issue with the A1 and is there any way to prevent it from happening?

This is a known issue with some Audi A1 models. It could be due to the battery being affected by the cold weather. Try using a smart charger to keep the battery charged during winter months and also make sure all your connections are clean and tight.

I had the same problem with my A1, and it turned out to be a faulty engine coolant temperature sensor. Have a mechanic check this out, as it could also be causing other issues with your car's performance.
