Why does my Audi A1 make a strange noise when I start the engine?

I've noticed that my Audi A1 makes a weird noise when I start the engine, but it goes away after a few seconds. Is there something wrong with my car?

The strange noise you hear is likely the engine's starter motor engaging and disengaging. This is a normal part of the engine starting process and should not be a cause for concern.

It could also be the air conditioning compressor engaging, which is normal for newer Audi models. However, if the noise persists or becomes louder, it is best to have it checked by a mechanic to ensure everything is functioning properly.

I experienced a similar issue with my Audi A1 and found that it was due to a loose exhaust heat shield. Make sure to have your car checked for any loose or damaged parts.
