Why does my Audi A1 keep stalling at red lights?

I have noticed that when I come to a complete stop at a red light, my Audi A1 sometimes stalls and I have to restart the engine. This only seems to happen when driving in the city and not on the highway. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

One possible reason for your Audi A1 stalling could be a faulty idle control valve. This controls the idle speed of the engine and if it malfunctions, it can cause the engine to stall when stopping at a light. I suggest getting it checked by a mechanic.

Another potential cause for stalling at red lights could be a dirty or clogged fuel injector. This can disrupt the flow of fuel to the engine and cause it to stall. I recommend getting a fuel injection service done to see if that resolves the issue.

Have you recently had your spark plugs replaced? Worn out or faulty spark plugs can cause stalling at idle. I suggest checking and possibly replacing your spark plugs to see if that improves the issue.
