Why does my Audi 80's engine make a loud knocking noise?

I recently noticed that whenever I start my Audi 80, there is a loud knocking noise coming from the engine. It only lasts for a few seconds and then goes away. What could be causing this and should I be worried?

The most common reason for a loud knocking noise in an Audi 80 is due to worn out bearings in the engine. This can be caused by regular wear and tear or lack of proper maintenance. It is important to get this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid further damage.

Another possible cause for the knocking noise could be a problem with the fuel injectors. If they are not functioning properly, it can result in a loud knocking noise. Take your Audi 80 to a trusted mechanic to have the fuel injectors checked and potentially replaced.

One way to prevent a loud knocking noise in your Audi 80 is to regularly change the oil and oil filter according to the manufacturer's recommended schedule. This helps to keep the engine properly lubricated and can prevent issues like worn out bearings.
