Why does my Audi 80 not start when the temperature is below freezing?

I have a 1992 Audi 80 and it runs smoothly most of the time, but when the temperature drops below freezing, the car won't start. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It sounds like you may have an issue with your car's battery or starter. Cold temperatures can cause the battery to lose some of its charge, making it difficult for the starter to turn over the engine. Try checking and possibly replacing your battery and see if that solves the problem.

Another common issue with cars not starting in cold weather is that the engine oil may be too thick or congealed, making it difficult for the engine to turn over. Check your oil and consider using a thinner, winter-grade oil if necessary.

If your car has a carburetor instead of fuel injection, it may be having trouble getting the right fuel-air mixture in cold temperatures. Consider using a fuel additive or getting your carburetor cleaned to improve cold weather starting.
