Why does my Audi 80 make a high pitched screeching noise when I press on the brakes?

Recently, my Audi 80 has been making a loud screeching noise whenever I press on the brakes. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the car. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

It is possible that your brake pads have worn out and need to be replaced. Brake pads have a small metal indicator tab that will start making a screeching noise when they are worn out and need to be changed.
