Why do my brakes squeak in my Audi A1?

Every time I come to a stop in my Audi A1, I hear a high-pitched squeaking noise. It's starting to get really annoying. Any ideas on what could be causing it and how I can fix it?

This could be caused by worn out brake pads or dirt and debris getting stuck in the brake components. It's important to have a mechanic check it out and replace any worn out parts if necessary. In the meantime, try lightly pressing and releasing the brakes a few times to see if the noise goes away.

I had a similar issue with my Audi A1 and it turned out to be a loose brake pad. I would recommend having a professional inspect the brakes and tighten any loose components.

Another potential cause could be glazed brake pads, which can result from heavy braking or high temperatures. If this is the case, the pads will need to be replaced to eliminate the noise.
