Why do Audi A6 drivers need to regularly check their brake fluid level?

I recently purchased an Audi A6 and was wondering why I needed to check the brake fluid level regularly. I've never had to do this with other cars before. Can someone please explain why this is necessary and how often it needs to be checked?

Audi A6 models have a hydraulic brake system that relies on brake fluid to transfer the force of pressing the brake pedal to the wheels. Regularly checking the brake fluid level ensures that there is enough fluid for the brakes to function properly.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it naturally absorbs moisture from the air over time. Excess moisture in the brake fluid can lead to corrosion and reduced braking performance, making it important to check and replace the fluid as needed.

Checking the brake fluid level is also a good opportunity to inspect the condition of the brake system, including the brake pads and rotors. This helps identify any potential issues early on and prevents them from becoming costly repairs.
