Where can I find the Audi A6's oil filter?

I recently purchased an Audi A6 and need to change the oil filter. Where can I locate the oil filter in the car?

The oil filter on an Audi A6 can usually be found under the hood. It is typically located near the engine, and may have a black or orange cap with either a 36mm or 27mm hex on top.

Some Audi A6 models have the oil filter located underneath the car, near the oil drain plug. If you don't see it under the hood, try looking under the car.
