What type of engine oil does my Audi 80 need?

I recently purchased a used Audi 80 and I want to make sure I'm using the right type of oil. Can anyone tell me what type of engine oil the Audi 80 requires and any recommendations on specific brands or grades?

According to the official Audi website, the recommended engine oil for the Audi 80 is a synthetic high-performance 5W-40 oil. As for specific brands, I personally recommend Castrol Edge or Mobil 1.

I have been using 0W-30 oil in my Audi 80 for years and have never had any issues. I think any high-quality synthetic oil in the recommended viscosity range will work just fine.
