What is the Hybrid Mild and how does it work?

I recently heard about Audi's Hybrid Mild technology, but I'm not quite sure how it differs from traditional hybrid systems. Can someone explain how it works and what the benefits are?

The Hybrid Mild in Audi A6 is a hybrid system that combines a 48-volt battery with a small electric motor and a traditional gas engine. The electric motor assists the gas engine during acceleration and provides regenerative braking to recharge the battery. This results in improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
