What is the function of a turbocharger in an Audi?

I'm considering purchasing an Audi but don't understand why some models have a turbocharger. Can someone explain its function and if it's worth the extra cost?

A turbocharger is an important component in Audi engines as it helps to increase power and efficiency. As the exhaust gases pass through the turbocharger, it spins a turbine which then compresses the air going into the engine, resulting in more oxygen for better combustion and more power.

The turbocharger also allows for smaller and more fuel-efficient engines without sacrificing performance. So, even though you may be paying more upfront for the turbocharger, you'll end up saving on fuel costs in the long run.

I highly recommend opting for an Audi with a turbocharger. The added power and fuel efficiency are definitely worth the extra investment. Plus, it just makes driving more fun.
