Quattro technology is Audi's renowned all-wheel drive system, which distributes power to all four wheels for improved traction and handling. Quattro Ultra is a newer version of this technology that is primarily found on smaller, front-wheel drive based Audi models. It uses an electronically controlled clutch instead of a center differential to send power to the rear wheels when needed, resulting in improved fuel efficiency and a lighter overall weight. In terms of which one to choose, it ultimately depends on your driving needs and preferences. If you live in a location with harsh weather conditions or plan on taking your Audi off-road, the standard Quattro may be the better option. However, if fuel efficiency is a top priority for you and you don't anticipate needing the added traction of all-wheel drive, then Quattro Ultra may be the way to go.

The main difference between Quattro and Quattro Ultra is the type of all-wheel drive system used. Quattro uses a mechanical system with a center differential, while Quattro Ultra uses a more advanced electronically controlled version. The benefit of Quattro Ultra is that it can more efficiently distribute power to the rear wheels, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. However, for most drivers, the difference in fuel efficiency may not be noticeable and the added weight and complexity of the system may not be worth it. As a general rule, if you live in a climate with heavy snow and ice or plan on doing a lot of off-roading, the standard Quattro may be the better option. Otherwise, the Quattro Ultra should suffice for daily driving on regular roads.

As an Audi mechanic with years of experience, I can confidently say that both Quattro and Quattro Ultra are highly effective in providing improved traction and handling. The main difference between the two is the setup of the all-wheel drive system, with Quattro Ultra utilizing an electronically controlled clutch rather than a mechanical center differential. In my opinion, unless you live in a location with extreme weather conditions or plan on regularly driving in off-road situations, there is not a significant difference in performance between the two. It ultimately comes down to personal preference and if you prioritize fuel efficiency, then the Quattro Ultra may be the better option for you.
