What is the difference between AC charging and DC fast charging in an Audi e-Tron?

I am considering purchasing an Audi e-Tron, but I'm unsure about the charging options available. Can you explain the difference between AC charging and DC fast charging in terms of speed, availability, and cost?

AC charging uses an alternating current and can charge your Audi e-Tron at a rate of up to 11kW. This type of charging is more readily available at home or public charging stations. However, it may take longer to fully charge your vehicle compared to DC fast charging.

E

DC fast charging, on the other hand, uses direct current and can charge your Audi e-Tron at a rate of up to 150kW. This type of charging is faster and more convenient for longer trips as it can quickly charge your vehicle to about 80% battery capacity in 30 minutes. However, it may be less available and may come at a premium cost.

I suggest taking advantage of both AC and DC charging options to have a well-rounded charging experience. For daily use, AC charging at home or work can keep your vehicle charged overnight, while DC fast charging can be utilized for longer trips or when time is of the essence. Happy driving!
