What is the difference between a car's torque and horsepower?

I've heard these terms mentioned when talking about a car's performance, but I don't really understand the difference between them. Can someone explain?

Torque and horsepower are often confused as the same thing, but they are actually two different measures of a car's performance. Torque is the measure of the rotational force of the engine, while horsepower is a calculation of the engine's overall power. A higher torque means better acceleration and towing power, while a higher horsepower means faster top speed and overall speed.

Think of torque as the strength of the car, and horsepower as the speed of the car. A car with high torque and low horsepower would be great for towing or hauling heavy loads, while a car with high horsepower and low torque would perform better in faster-paced driving.
