What is the best transmission for the Audi A6?

I am in the market for an Audi A6, but I am unsure which transmission will give me the best performance and longevity. Any recommendations?

Although the 8-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Audi A6, I would highly recommend upgrading to the S-tronic dual-clutch transmission. It provides quicker and smoother shifting, improving overall performance.
