What is causing a knocking noise in my Audi A2's engine?

I've noticed a loud knocking noise coming from my Audi A2's engine when I accelerate. It seems to be more prominent when the engine is cold. What could be causing this and what should I do about it?

The knocking noise could potentially be caused by worn out engine bearings. It's important to have this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible as driving with worn bearings could cause further damage to your engine.

Another possibility could be that your car is low on oil. Check your oil level and add more if necessary. If the noise persists, then it's important to have a professional inspect your engine.

It's also possible that your spark plugs are worn out and need to be replaced. This is a relatively easy fix and should be done regularly to maintain the performance of your car.
