What does the Audi A7's Active Lane Assist feature do?

I've noticed that my Audi A7 has the Active Lane Assist feature but I'm not sure what it does. Can someone explain its purpose?

The Active Lane Assist feature uses cameras to monitor your vehicle's position within the lane and if it detects you drifting out of your lane, it will gently steer you back into your lane to help prevent accidents.

This feature is especially useful on long highway drives as it helps reduce driver fatigue by providing small, corrective steering inputs so you can stay centered in your lane without having to constantly adjust your steering wheel.
