What causes the brake pedal to vibrate in an Audi 80?

I have noticed that when braking in my Audi 80, the pedal starts to vibrate. It is not a constant vibration, but rather comes in waves. What could be causing this and is it something I should be concerned about?

This is a common issue in Audi 80s and is most likely caused by warped brake rotors. As you press on the brake pedal, the rotor makes contact with the brake pads, and any imperfections in the rotor can cause the vibration you are feeling. It is important to have this checked and replaced if necessary, as it can impact the efficiency and safety of your brakes.

In addition to warped brake rotors, this could also be caused by worn brake pads. As the pad wears down, the rotor is not as evenly pressed against the pad, resulting in the vibrations you are feeling. Have your brake pads checked and replaced if needed, as driving with worn pads can be dangerous.
