What are some common issues that can cause the Audi 80's engine to overheat?

I recently purchased an Audi 80 and have noticed some overheating issues. However, I am not sure what could be causing it. Could it be a problem with the cooling system or something else? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

One common issue that can cause engine overheating in the Audi 80 is a malfunctioning thermostat. This can lead to improper regulation of engine temperature and result in overheating. I suggest getting your thermostat checked and replaced if necessary.

Another possible cause of engine overheating in the Audi 80 is a leak in the cooling system. This can lead to a low coolant level, which can cause the engine to overheat. I recommend checking for any leaks and getting them fixed immediately.

In some cases, a faulty water pump can also cause engine overheating in the Audi 80. If the water pump is not working properly, the coolant will not circulate correctly and the engine could overheat. It may be a good idea to have your water pump inspected and replaced if needed.
