Loud rattling sound when accelerating in my Audi 80

I've noticed that my Audi 80 is producing a loud rattling sound whenever I accelerate, but it goes away once I reach a steady speed. This just started recently and I'm concerned it may be a sign of a bigger issue. What could be causing this noise?

It's possible that your exhaust system has a loose part or component, such as a faulty muffler or a detached hanger. This can cause a rattling noise as the car moves and the parts bounce around. I suggest taking it to a mechanic to have it checked and repaired if necessary.

Have you recently changed your oil or had any maintenance done on your Audi 80? If so, it's possible that a part was not properly tightened or installed, causing the rattling noise. I recommend taking it back to the mechanic and explaining the issue.

One common cause of a rattling sound during acceleration is a failing catalytic converter. This component converts harmful gases into less harmful ones and can wear out over time, causing a rattling noise. Have it checked and replaced if needed.
