First, locate the tailgate button on the driver's door panel. Press it once to unlock the tailgate. This will also turn on the interior lights of the car. Then, press and hold the button until the tailgate fully opens. Once it's open, press the button again to close it. Make sure to stand in a safe position while the tailgate is closing.

Alternatively, you can use the key fob to open and close the tailgate. Press and hold the unlock button for two seconds to open the tailgate, and press and hold the lock button for two seconds to close it. This feature is especially useful when your hands are full.
