How to turn off engine start-stop function in an Audi A6?

I find the engine start-stop function in my Audi A6 to be inconvenient. Is there a way to permanently disable it?

To disable the engine start-stop function, press and hold the button located on the center console until a message appears on your dashboard confirming the function has been turned off.

Alternatively, you can turn off the engine start-stop function through the Audi MMI system by going to Menu > Settings > Audi drive select > Efficiency. From there, you can disable the start-stop function as well as adjust other driving settings.
