How to troubleshoot a faulty brake pedal on my Audi 80?

I have noticed that my brake pedal on my Audi 80 is not as responsive as before. It feels soft and sometimes sinks all the way to the floor. What could be causing this issue and how can I address it?

A

This could be due to a leak in the brake system or air in the brake lines. Check for any visible leaks and bleed the brake lines to remove any air bubbles. Remember to use new brake fluid when bleeding the lines.

D

Another possible cause could be worn brake pads. Check the thickness of your brake pads and replace them if needed. Worn pads can also lead to further damage to the brake system.

R

If the brake pedal still feels soft after checking for leaks and replacing the pads, it could be an issue with the brake booster. Have a mechanic check and potentially replace the brake booster if necessary.
