I recently did an oil change on my Audi A4 and I'm unsure of how to reset the indicator. Can anyone provide instructions on how to do this?
ReplyTo reset the oil change indicator on an Audi A4, follow these steps: 1. Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. 2. Press and hold the RESET button located on the instrument panel. 3. After about 5 seconds, the words OEL will appear on the display. 4. Release the RESET button. 5. Rotate the trip odometer reset knob on the instrument cluster to reset the indicator to 100%.
I found it helpful to also turn off the ignition and wait for a few minutes before starting the engine again. It seems to give the indicator enough time to reset and not show up again.
One thing to keep in mind after resetting the service indicator is to make sure the car has the correct oil type and amount. Mismatch can cause the indicator to come back on.
