How to manually override the MMI system in an Audi A6?

I am having trouble accessing the MMI system controls on my Audi A6. Is there a way to manually override the system and still have full control?

To manually override the MMI system in your Audi A6, press and hold the power/volume knob for 10 seconds. This will allow you to access all of the system's controls without any restrictions.
