How to fix the engine knocking noise in my Audi A4?

I have recently noticed a knocking noise coming from my Audi A4's engine. It seems to be more prominent when I accelerate or idle at a stop. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Sarah, the knocking noise could be caused by several things such as low oil levels, worn engine bearings, or a faulty water pump. I would suggest getting a professional inspection to determine the exact cause and then proceeding with the appropriate repairs. It's always better to address issues like this early on to avoid further damage to your engine.

Hi Sarah, I had a similar issue with my Audi A4 and it turned out to be a faulty timing chain tensioner. I would recommend getting this checked out as well and replacing it if necessary. Ignoring the noise could lead to extensive and expensive repairs in the long run.
