How to fix the air conditioning in a Audi A2?

Recently, the air conditioning in my Audi A2 stopped working. No air comes out of the vents, and the air conditioning control unit shows a blinking red light. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

There could be a couple of reasons for this issue. One possible cause could be a low refrigerant level in your air conditioning system. This could be due to a leak, which you can check for by inspecting the refrigerant lines. If a leak is present, it's best to take your car to a professional mechanic for repairs. Another potential cause could be a faulty compressor or a malfunctioning AC control unit. In this case, it's also recommended to seek assistance from a certified mechanic.

I had a similar problem with my Audi A2's air conditioning and it turned out to be a faulty evaporator temperature sensor. This sensor is responsible for measuring the temperature of the evaporator, which is a critical component of the AC system. So, if this sensor is malfunctioning, it can cause issues with your air conditioning. To fix this, you may need to replace the sensor, which can be done by a skilled mechanic.

Before rushing to an auto shop, first check if the issue is with the cabin air filter. If the filter is clogged with debris and dust, it can restrict airflow and cause problems with the air conditioning. Try replacing the filter and see if it improves the air flow. If not, it's best to have a professional look at the car.
