How to fix squeaking brakes in an Audi 80?

I have recently noticed that the brakes on my Audi 80 make a high-pitched squeaking noise when I apply them. It's quite embarrassing and I'm worried it might be a sign of a more serious issue. What could be the cause of this noise and how can I fix it?

Hi Hannah, squeaking brakes is a common problem in many cars, including the Audi 80. It can be caused by a few different factors, but the most common is worn brake pads. I would suggest taking your car to a mechanic as soon as possible to get them checked and replaced if necessary. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your brakes!

Hey Hannah, another possible cause of squeaking brakes could be a build-up of dust and debris on the brake rotors. This can happen if you drive on dusty or muddy roads frequently. You can try using a wire brush to clean off the dust and see if that helps. If not, it's best to get your brakes checked by a professional.
