How to fix an overflowing gas tank in the Audi 80?

I have a problem with my Audi 80 where the gas tank keeps overflowing, even when I stop fueling at the first click of the pump. I've tried changing the gas pump nozzle positions and different gas stations, but the issue still persists. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue?

The most common cause of overflowing gas tanks in Audi 80s is a faulty fuel tank vent valve. You may need to have it replaced to resolve the issue.

If your Audi 80 is equipped with a charcoal canister, it may be clogged and preventing the fuel tank from venting properly. Have it inspected and possibly cleaned or replaced if necessary.

I had the same issue with my Audi 80 and I found out that the gas tank was slightly tilted, causing the fuel to not flow evenly. Check if your gas tank is properly installed and aligned.
