I recently purchased an Audi and want to make sure I am taking proper care of it. How can I check the tire pressure on my own? Is it different than checking tire pressure on other cars?
ReplyFirst, make sure you have a pressure gauge. Then, remove the cap from the tire valve and place the gauge on it. The recommended tire pressure for your Audi can be found in the owner's manual or on a sticker inside the driver's side door. If it is lower than the recommended pressure, use an air compressor to fill it to the correct level. If it is higher, use a pen or other small object to deflate the tire slightly. Repeat for all four tires.
I recommend checking the tire pressure at least once a month. Changes in temperature and driving habits can affect the pressure. Keeping your tires properly inflated can improve gas mileage and extend the life of your tires.
If you don't have a pressure gauge, many gas stations have an air pump with a built-in gauge. Just be sure to keep a close eye on the display to make sure you're getting an accurate reading.
