How to check the fuel pump in an Audi 80?

I'm having some issues with my Audi 80 stalling frequently and I suspect it may be an issue with the fuel pump. Is there a way to check if it needs to be replaced or if there is a different underlying cause?

The fuel pump can be checked using a fuel pressure gauge. Simply attach the gauge to the fuel rail and then start the engine. The gauge should read between 30-45 psi. If it reads lower, this could indicate a problem with the pump or fuel system overall. You may want to consult a mechanic for further diagnosis.
