How does Audi's Active Lane Assist feature work?

I've heard about Audi's Active Lane Assist feature, but I'm not sure how it actually works. Can someone explain it to me?

Audi's Active Lane Assist uses a camera to detect lane markings and automatically steers the vehicle back into its lane if it starts to drift. It also provides haptic feedback through the steering wheel to alert the driver if they are drifting out of their lane.
