How do I turn on the parking brake in my Audi A6?

I recently bought an Audi A6 and I can't figure out how to activate the parking brake. Can someone please walk me through the steps?

To activate the parking brake, simply pull up on the lever located next to the center console. You will know it's engaged when the indicator light turns red.

Another option is to press the parking brake button located on the center console. Make sure to hold it down until the light turns red.
