How do I program my key fob in an Audi A2?

I am having trouble programming my key fob for my Audi A2. Can anyone provide instructions on how to do it correctly?

To program your key fob, first remove the metal key from the fob and insert it into the driver's side door. Turn the key to the unlock position, then back to the off position. Repeat this 5 times, ending with the key in the off position. Next, press any button on the key fob, then turn the key in the ignition to the on position. The doors should automatically lock and unlock, signaling that the programming was successful.
