How can I reset my Audi A2's electronic control unit (ECU)?

I recently made some modifications to my Audi A2 and I need to reset the ECU to ensure that the new changes are properly registered. How can I do this?

To reset the ECU on your Audi A2, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 5 minutes. Then, reconnect the terminal and turn on your car, but do not start the engine. Let the car sit for another 10 minutes to allow the ECU to fully reset. After that, you can start your engine and the ECU should be reset.
