How can I fix my Audi 80's constantly flickering headlights?

I have noticed that my Audi 80's headlights have been flickering frequently, and it's becoming a safety concern. Is there a way to troubleshoot and fix this issue without having to visit the mechanic?

The most common cause of flickering headlights in Audi 80s is a faulty alternator. You can check if this is the case by using a multimeter to measure the voltage output. If it's below 13.8 volts, then it's time to replace the alternator. As for personal advice, make sure to use genuine parts and follow the manufacturer's instructions for best results.

One possible solution for this problem is to clean the battery terminals and cable connections. Corrosion and build-up can disrupt the electrical flow and cause flickering. However, this should only be attempted if you are comfortable working with car batteries. My advice would be to wear gloves and eye protection just in case.
