How can I diagnose and fix a faulty power window in my Audi 80?

My Audi 80's power window has stopped working. When I press the switch, I can hear a clicking sound but the window doesn't move. How can I troubleshoot and repair this issue?

Check the power window fuse first. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one and see if the window starts working. If not, you may need to replace the power window motor.

You can try cleaning and lubricating the power window tracks and gears to see if that resolves the issue. Make sure to use a silicone-based lubricant and avoid getting any on the glass or rubber seals.

If the window is stuck in the up position, you can try hitting the door panel with your hand while pressing the switch. This may jolt the window into moving, indicating a faulty motor or regulator.
