How can I check the oil on my Audi A4?

I just bought a used Audi A4 and want to make sure I am properly maintaining the engine. How can I easily check the oil levels without having to take my car to a mechanic?

To check the oil on your Audi A4, first make sure your vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine has cooled. Locate the oil dipstick and remove it. Wipe it clean and then reinsert it back into the tube securely. Pull the dipstick out again and take note of the oil level. It should fall between the minimum and maximum marks. If it is below the minimum, it's time for an oil change.
