How can I check the brake pads on my Audi A3?

I've noticed some squealing noises when I press on my brakes and want to make sure the brake pads are still in good condition. Can anyone provide some guidance on how to check them on my Audi A3?

To check the brake pads on your Audi A3, first remove the wheel and locate the brake caliper. Using a flashlight, check the thickness of the brake pads and ensure they are at least 3mm thick. If they are worn down, it's time to replace them. As a general tip, it's good to check your brake pads every 10,000 miles or so to ensure they are in good condition.

You can also visually inspect your brake pads by looking through the spokes of your wheel. If they appear to be wearing unevenly or have grooves on the surface, it's time to replace them. Remember, faulty brake pads can cause serious damage to your Audi A3's braking system if not replaced promptly.

In addition to checking the thickness and surface of your brake pads, pay attention to any strange noises or vibrations when you brake. These can also be signs of worn out pads and should be addressed immediately.
