First, gather all the necessary tools and supplies such as a jack, jack stands, a oil filter wrench, a drain pan, and the correct grade and amount of oil. Then, park the car on a level surface and jack it up to access the oil pan underneath the car. Remove the drain plug and let the old oil drain into the pan.
