Why is there a delay in the acceleration of my Audi A4?

I have noticed that when I press the gas pedal in my Audi A4, there is a slight delay before it accelerates. Is this normal? What could be causing this?

This could be a result of a clogged fuel filter. You may want to have it replaced to see if that improves the acceleration.
