Why is my Audi A6 making a strange noise when I brake?

I recently purchased an Audi A6 and I've noticed that when I brake, there is a strange noise coming from the wheels. It almost sounds like a grinding or scraping noise. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Emily, it sounds like you may have an issue with your brake pads. Over time, they can wear down and cause a grinding noise when braking. I suggest taking it to a mechanic to have them inspected and replaced if necessary. It's always better to address brake issues sooner rather than later to ensure safe driving.

Hi Emily, another possible cause could be a problem with your brake rotors. They can become warped or damaged, causing a noise when braking. Take your car to a mechanic to have them checked and possibly resurfaced or replaced.
