Why is my Audi A1 producing a ticking noise when I start the engine?

I've recently noticed that my Audi A1 is making a ticking or clicking noise when I start the engine. It seems to be coming from the front of the car, near the engine bay. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It's likely that your timing chain tensioner has gone bad. This is a common issue with the Audi A1 and can cause a ticking noise when the engine is cold. The best course of action is to take your car to a trusted mechanic for a diagnosis and to replace the tensioner if necessary.
