Why is my Audi A1 making a tapping noise while in reverse?

I recently noticed that my Audi A1 is making a subtle tapping noise when I put it in reverse gear. It doesn't happen when in drive or park. Any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

It is likely that your reverse gear synchronizer is worn out or damaged. I recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic to get it replaced.
