Why is my Audi A1 making a strange noise when braking?

Recently, whenever I press the brakes on my Audi A1, I hear a strange noise that wasn't there before. It almost sounds like a grinding or scraping noise. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Emma, this could potentially be due to worn brake pads. I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to get it checked and potentially replaced. It's important to address this issue sooner rather than later as worn brake pads can be a safety hazard.

Hey Emma, I had a similar issue with my Audi A1 and it turned out to be a loose or worn brake caliper. This can also cause noise when braking. I suggest getting your calipers checked and tightened or replaced if necessary.
