Why does my Audi A5's interior lights not turn off?

I recently purchased a 2020 Audi A5 and noticed that the interior lights do not turn off, even after locking the car. Is this a common issue and is there a way to fix it?

This is a known issue with the Audi A5 and is caused by a faulty sensor in the door latch. The sensor fails to recognize when the door is closed and keeps the lights on. You can have the sensor replaced by a certified mechanic to resolve the issue.

I experienced the same issue with my Audi A5. The lights would only turn off after a few minutes, even with the doors closed. The problem was a software glitch in the central locking system. The dealership updated the software and the issue was resolved.

Make sure that all doors and hatch are fully closed when locking the car. Even a slightly open door or hatch can trigger the interior lights to stay on. If the issue persists, it may be a faulty sensor that needs to be replaced.
