Why does my Audi A4's engine make a rattling noise when I accelerate?

I've noticed that my Audi A4 makes a strange rattling noise when I accelerate, but it stops once I reach a certain speed. What could be causing this issue and is it something I should be concerned about?

The most likely cause of the rattling noise is a loose heat shield on your exhaust system. This is a common issue with Audi A4s and can be easily fixed by tightening or replacing the heat shield.

Another possible cause could be a problem with your engine's timing chain or tensioner. It's important to have this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to prevent any further damage to your engine.

If the rattling noise occurs only when the car is cold and goes away as the engine warms up, it could be due to a faulty hydraulic valve lifter. This will require a visit to a mechanic to replace the lifter.
