This noise is likely caused by a lack of lubrication in the steering system. It's important to check the power steering fluid level and top it off if needed. If that doesn't solve the issue, it's best to take your car to a mechanic for a more thorough inspection.

I had a similar problem with my A1 before and it turned out to be a loose suspension component. It's best to have a mechanic take a look at the car to determine the exact cause of the noise. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Have you recently driven over any rough roads or potholes? If so, it's possible that the noise is coming from a damaged or worn out steering or suspension part. I suggest taking your car to a trusted mechanic for an inspection and possible repairs.
