Why does my Audi 80's engine sputter when starting in cold weather?

I have a 1996 Audi 80 and every winter when the temperature drops below freezing, the engine sputters and struggles to start. It eventually turns on but it's been happening for a few years now. Any ideas why?

It could be an issue with your spark plugs. Cold weather can cause them to become worn and not produce enough spark to start the engine smoothly. I would recommend getting them checked and potentially replaced if needed.
